The Biomedical Engineering Club is a group of curious and driven high school students passionate about educating students on the usage of technology in medicine. Beyond collaborating in the club, we each contribute to our community in our own unique ways.

Rishika Basnet

Rishika is currently a high school junior, passionate about pursuing cybersecurity and gaining more knowledge of computer science in the future. She helped launch the Biomedical Engineering Club to explore paths in computer science and its specific applications in the medical field. In her spare time, she volunteers as a museum docent at The Lawrence Hall of Science, holds a job as a math tutor in a local learning center, and serves as a member of the Stanford Neuroscience Journal Club.






Vice President

Grace Chen

Grace is currently a junior in high school, eager to pursue computational biology in her future. She joined the club because she feels that programming is increasingly relevant in various fields of science today and believes this integration of technology and medicine is particularly interesting. She enjoys gaining deeper insight on the medical world and how it ties back to computer programming, as well as sharing this knowledge. In her spare time, Grace enjoys programming games and drawing.

Angelina Victorio

Angelina is currently a junior in high school who has her mind set on pursuing a profession in the medical field. She became an officer of the club to gain a deeper understanding of how technology has advanced medical treatment and shaped the healthcare industry as a whole. Outside her position in the club, Angelina serves as an officer in 3 other medical focused clubs, dances in 2 dance groups to perform in her school assemblies, and interns in her school-based health center’s youth advisory board.

Allison He

Allison is a senior at Alameda High School. She joined the club driven by a strong interest in biomedical engineering, shaped by her personal experience living with a prosthetic knee. Looking ahead, Allison hopes to pursue a major related to biomedical sciences and study its clinical applications. Outside of school, she enjoys writing poetry, doodling, reading web novels, watching dramas, and playing video games.

Chalida Chansaengchot

Chalida is a junior in high school. She joined the team to learn how engineering, biology, and medicine are used together, specifically their applications in real-world problems. She hopes to gain more hands-on experience, gain skills that will help with her pursuit into the medical industry, and learn more about careers in the biomedical field. In the future, Chalida hopes to become a sonographer, aiding people in their diagnosis process. In her spare time, she enjoys painting and cooking.

Tiffany Chan

Tiffany is currently a junior in high school, passionate about pursuing either pediatrics or dermatology in her future. She helped to establish the club to witness how her interest in medicine can pair along with new innovations in engineering. In her time away from the club, Tiffany enjoys listening to music and playing guitar.

Ella Randecker

Ella is currently a high school junior. She joined the Biomedical Engineering Club to explore pathways and technologies in the subject, as well as to help other students engage with the content and learn together. In the future, she is looking to pursue her interests in STEM by earning a degree in biotechnology while in college. In her free time, Ella enjoys reading, rowing, and hanging out with friends.

Zoe is currently a sophomore in high school. She joined the team due to her interests in the medical field and fascination with expanding her knowledge on the topic. Looking ahead, Zoe wants to pursue a career in the medical field, specifically in the radiology area. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, spending time with friends, and watching movies & TV shows.

Amber Tse

Amber is a sophomore in high school. She joined as an officer because she wanted to be more engaged with the club after learning new things and doing interesting projects as a member. Moreover, she also joined the team to learn more about medical and biotechnology related topics. In the future, Amber is looking to pursue genetic engineering and work with fascinating technology to research its clinical applications. Outside of school, Amber enjoys playing badminton with friends, crocheting toys, and watching tv shows.
